Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1997 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora often stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 by Decca Records. It has been praised by the music press and bloggers. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are among her best-known songs. Her name was also recognized from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. It was awe-inspiring to see its capabilities. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get a job or a hobby however, as a chance to grow. The singer began to write songs of her own. In addition to Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother had told her the songs she composed might not be famous for her, but instead to inspire individuals to recognize the importance of their work and influence to our world at large, she started playing them on stage. At age 6 She began playing the piano and at nine began writing her own songs. The family members didn't know about it until she turned fourteen. Aurora had no idea of being famous. She claims that she enjoys writing songs. Music is her favorite way to feel anything.
